The Hawick Hosiery Company Formed. Established on Duke Street, Hawick, as The Hawick Hosiery Company—dedicated to quality knitwear. The original mill building still stands and is actively used today.

They launched a retail experience directly at the factory: visitors can tour via viewing windows over knitting flats and shop outlet/remnant stock as Hawico expanded into key luxury markets with stores in Edinburgh, Geneva, St Moritz, Tokyo, Milan, London, Zurich, Sylt, and across the US under the Hawick Cashmere branding.
